Certified Organic, Certified Kosher, Only 100% Japanese tea used. Harvested and processed using traditional Japanese methods. Hojicha is lower in caffeine than regular (unroasted) green tea – can be drunk all day.

• Traditional roasted hojicha green tea - Harvested in the Uji district in early summer, the hojicha leaves and small twigs are steamed and roasted in revolving ovens with the aid of volcanic sand for slow, even roasting. The sand is later removed resulting in a tea with a rich, nutty, smoky flavor.
• Organic, kosher, non-GMO - Haiku Japanese Organic Roasted Hojicha is USDA Organic, Certified Kosher, and Verified Non-GMO. Our tea bags are made from unbleached, non-GMO fibers, and our box is made from 100% recycled paper board printed with vegetable-based ink.
• Low caffeine - Haiku Organic Roasted Hojicha Green Tea is made from larger, older leaves and small twigs of the tea bush resulting in a lower caffeine level than sencha green tea.
• How to prepare - Bring one cup of cold water per tea bag to a boil. Pour over the tea and allow to steep for 5 to 7 minutes.
